Background:
ABC Commercial part of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation are one the best innovators in Australia. The brief was to create their brand channels and subsequent design guidelines for future catalogue, and to represent the different programming offerings and genres from the ABC.


Solution 1: ABC Shop online
Winner of a national retail award post launch, the reimagined website was designed to be skinable across multiple platforms, like the Wiggles. I worked alongside Bienalto and we produced an accessible website.
Outcome 1: 16 months
ABC Shop online grew the ABC revenue to 75% of all entire ABC retail experience.


Solution 2: ABC iTunes channel
The ABC were one of the first Australian broadcast media companies to launch their digital offering on iTunes Australia. The brief was to create their brand channels and subsequent design guidelines for future catalogue, and to represent the different programming offerings and genres from the ABC.
Outcome 2: 2 months
There was a huge uptake of ABC iTunes downloads on the very first day, placing ABC at the Number 1 spot, with purchases in the tens of thousands.


Solution 3: ABC downloads player
The ABC downloads player was the first Silverlight project in Australia. I worked with Ben Hockley from Different & Hyro to produce the first in class downloads interface and associated promotions.
Outcome 3: 6 months
Initial downloads were large, the product offering was later merged into ABC iView – the ABC’s most successful catch up TV channel.
